Sugar Creek Elementary School announced Tuesday it will be closed for the rest of the week, Dec. 18 through Dec. 20.
The school says the closure is due to the spread of illnesses among students and staff.
Since the following week is the school’s holiday break, students will return Jan. 7, 2025.
Here is the full message from the school:
"Good Afternoon,
"For the past two days we have been monitoring the amount of sickness among students and staff at Sugar Creek Elementary. Various illnesses have spread throughout the school with the most common being the flu. The decision has been made to close Sugar Creek for the next three days to give our students and staff a chance to recover and stop the spread. Sugar Creek will be closed to students on 12/18, 12/19 and 12/20.
"Sugar Creek is the only school in our system impacted at this time, but we will continue to monitor all schools in the district. Please stay safe over the holidays and we look forward to seeing you back on January 7, 2025."
