It's a Hartselle institution, and home to some tasty peaches!
Generations of hard work are rooted deep in the soil of Reeves’ Farm in Hartselle. Just off the interstate on Exit 328 lies the land that the Reeves family has owned since the 1830s, but it wasn’t until 1959 that current owner Mike Reeves’ grandfather planted the first peach trees.
Peak peach season in Alabama is from May to late September, and National Peach Day is celebrated every year on Aug. 27, but all year round, the Reeves family provides the Tennessee Valley with the best produce they have to offer, starting with strawberry season in mid-April. Guests can expect whatever’s ripe on the vine that morning to be on store shelves the same day.Â
“Homegrown and straight to the consumer is what we’re all about,†Mike Reeves said.
Reeves’ sons are now the fourth generation of peach growers. Today, they offer more to customers than ever before, including homemade peach ice cream and a restaurant that serves sandwiches and, of course, peach cobbler.Â
Georgia may be known for their peaches, but if you’re looking for high-quality, delicious fruit, look no further than the town of southern hospitality: Hartselle, Alabama.Â
Reeves' Farm is located at 436 AL-36, Hartselle, AL 35640.
