'Win, lose or draw, it's for a great cause': Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation hosts 11th annual Dragon Boat Race

is now open for the 2025 Dragon Boat Race and Festival, presented by Toray Carbon Fibers. The event will be May 10 at Point Mallard Aquatic Center Beach.

Teams of 20 paddlers, a drummer and steersperson race in authentic 46-foot-long Asian style dragon boats. Professionally trained boat steersperson is provided for each team by race coordinators.

All skill levels and physiques can participate, making it the ultimate team building sport, requiring synchronicity and finesse, more than power to win.

The features competitive community and corporate teams racing for title of Grand Champion.

Approximately 50 teams and more than 1,200 paddlers are expected to participate this year.

Off the water, teams also compete to raise the most pledges for Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation.

The deadline to register is May 2.
