The Athens Police Department says they've received numerous complaints from concerned parents and residents over the past few months about the illegal sale of alcohol to minors at area convenience stores.Â
Athens Police say they conducted surveillance on underage sales at these locations starting the first week of July. Investigators say part of that surveillance included sending an underage source to buy alcohol at several of the locations included in the complaints as well as other places within the city of Athens.
As a result of the investigation, Athens Police identified nine individuals from eight different locations that had allegedly either sold alcohol to the source or to other minors.
Police arrested the following and charged them with the illegal sale of alcohol to a minor:
Ahmed Hameed Asayadi, 35, of Madison
Isa Fayez Saleh Zookari, 22, of Madison
Mohamed Abdellahi Oumar, 43, of Ardmore
