A frustrated community gathered again Tuesday in Albertville to talk about an influx of Haitian migrants in their city. Some raised concerns about safety and resources being depleted, and others called for peace, acceptance, and unity.
The pastor of Mount Calvary Church urged immigration consultant Jay Palmer to come address the matter at the church with people in the community.
Palmer said, “This is not happening just because they chose to come here. They were sent here. The left has inflexed our country with illegal people and migrants in order to secure a new voting population of Democrats.â€
Palmer encouraged the community to reach out to government officials, as city officials said they are doing as much as they can on the matter.
But some people said this meeting was unproductive, and they still feel uneasy and have many unanswered questions.
Jeff Lamour, a Haitian American citizen and local businessman living in Albertville, said he's received a lot of hate recently.
“People are coming after me. To me, I feel like those people are not educated enough. What have you done for the community?†said Lamour.
He wishes for love and unity in Albertville.
“I think we need unity. We need to be united because, at the end of the day, we are all one community," he added.
