An Albertville man is charged with rape after deputies say they received a report of a minor giving birth.Â
According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, 26-year-old Manuel Andres Francisco (Tomas) was arrested Tuesday.
The Marshall County Criminal Investigations Division initially received the report of the birth on Feb. 19.
After investigating the complaint, a felony warrant was obtained Tuesday. Later that evening, Marshall County investigators, along with the Marshall County Drug Task Force, and in conjunction with U.S. Department of Homeland Security, took Tomas into custody.
He was booked into the Marshall County Jail with no bond pending an Aniah's Law hearing.
Deputies say additional charges are expected.
