Shining a light on talented artists in the community.
Arts Â鶹´«Ã½ hosted a community conversation event Tuesday to help local artists get their work out there and in front of people who'll support them and help spread the word.
"The arts community is strong and thriving. I think when you're an artist, and sometimes you get so into your artwork and your method and your mission and your clients and your goal, that sometimes we get lost in our focus and we forget that we have a community around us that can also help," said Katelyn Henderson, owner of We Are Â鶹´«Ã½.
Henderson was one of the guest speakers at Tuesday night's event.
She says being confident and sharing knowledge with the community is the way.
"Creating a community and being involved in the community that does that. Embolden us to be more and to meet more people and to talk to more people and to do more things.", said Henderson.
Â鶹´«Ã½ Content Creators founder Kenny James says staying connected with peers is also essential.
And spend time with like-minded people who can push you to accomplish your career goals.
"There's power in the community, and that community is everything. Putting yourself in the hole is not the best option because sometimes you know we need support from other people," said Kenny James, Â鶹´«Ã½ Content Creators founder.
They will continue this event throughout February and it will take place Tuesday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Dr. Richard Recreation Center.
