Blake Campbell's Late Three-Pointer Propels UAH to 12th Straight Win Thursday at Union

JACKSON, Tenn. | The No. 6 UAH men's basketball team hung on to win its 12th straight after a game-winning three-pointer by Blake Campbell propelled the Chargers to an 82-81 win at Union on Thursday night in Gulf South Conference action. UAH improves to 12-1 (7-0 GSC), while UU slides to 7-5 (3-3 GSC).

UAH's 12 consecutive victories are the most by the program since the 2020-21 campaign's streak.

After a back-and-forth affair, Union held an 81-79 lead over the Chargers with 15 seconds remaining until Campbell sank his lone three-pointer of the night with five seconds left to win it 82-81 for UAH.

Campbell guided the UAH offense in the road victory with 22 points, as he went 9-for-14 from the field with four rebounds and four assists across a team-high 37 minutes on the floor. This the fourth time this season Campbell has recorded 20 points or more in a game.

Head coach Mick Hedgepeth's squad featured a total of five players with 10 points or more on Thursday, with Matt Thurman (16 points), Tommy Murr (14 points), Dane Harding (14 points), and Daniel Saylor (10 points) joining Campbell in double-figures.

Thurman's 16 points were a career-high for the junior, while Saylor registered a double-double with a roster-leading 12 rebounds in the victory. Saylor additionally posted four blocks to give him 34 blocks in his senior campaign.

UAH shot 45.1 percent (32-71) from the field and 29.0 percent (9-31) on three-pointers, while holding the edge over Union in points off turnovers (15-9) and points in the paint (42-32).

The Chargers wrap up the GSC road swing at Christian Brothers on Saturday at 3 p.m.
