Boaz man arrested on child pornography charges

Authorities arrested a Boaz man on child pornography charges on Wednesday.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Mount Vernon Homes in Boaz. 

Authorities arrested 20-year-old Brandon Timothy Ricks. Ricks was charged with five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of possession with intent to disseminate child pornography. 

Ricks is being held in the Marshall County Jail without bond pending an initial hearing before a judge.
