A 65-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in the Hampton Cove community, including Rocket City Toys.

In late May, Madison County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to several businesses in Hampton Cove after reports of burglaries.

Surveillance cameras captured images and videos of the suspect, which were shared on social media, prompting an extensive investigation.

Sheriff's detectives conducted several days of surveillance, focusing on a suspect and his vehicle.

This led to the identification of Michael Thomas. Deputies intercepted Thomas at Circle K in Hampton Cove last week and took him into custody.

Thomas has been charged with two counts of burglary and violation of probation.

Authorities also found burglary tools in his possession, and additional charges are expected.

Thomas is currently being held at the Madison County Jail Facility with bonds totaling $20,500.
