Decatur Police: Man flown to hospital after 'firework accident'

A man was airlifted to a hospital after police say he was injured following a firework accident. 

According to the Decatur Police Department, officers responded to the 1500 block of Chadwell Street in reference to the incident about 8:50 p.m. Thursday.

When they arrived, officers made contact with a man who had suffered an injury to his right hand.

Police say he was transported by ambulance to Decatur Morgan Hospital and later flown to Â鶹´«Ã½ Hospital to receive treatment.

No further details are available at this time.
