The Madison County Sheriff's Office responded Saturday to a Meridianville shooting involving a teen.
The incident happened about 5:15 p.m. Friday in the Bermuda Oaks subdivision off Moores Mill Road. Deputies say that when they arrived at the scene, they found a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound to the chest.
That teen was taken to Â鶹´«Ã½ Hospital for treatment. The sheriff's office says they are actively investigating the circumstances of the incident but believe the shooting was accidental.
Detectives say they anticipate charges will be filed concerning the incident. An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
