Dolly Parton sang a few verses from her 1994 tune "Heartsong" at the grand opening of her new HeartSong Lodge & Resort.

Dollywood is ringing in Spring, right now, with its Flower and Food Festival.

The Festival runs through June 8th, and features elaborate live flower landscapes that tell brilliantly colorful stories of milestones from Dolly Parton's life. They also depict unforgettable scenes of Smokey Mountain Culture and wildlife.

"One of the most touching floral displays is of Dolly's mother sewing her famous Coat of Many Colors, the story of which became one of Dolly's signature songs," said Dollywood Public Relations Manager Ellen Liston during an appearance Friday on WAAY 31 News Midday.

“If there’s one thing I know about the Smokies, it’s that God does some of his best handiwork this time of year,†Parton said. “It’s like the mountains come back to life in the spring with all of His beautiful creations blooming around us."

Other live-bloom depictions include two pink fluttering butterflies, A mallard, a peacock, and a family of playful bears.

As for the FOOD side of the Festival, Liston recommends the Smoky Mountain grilled corn, the blueberry pie milkshake, and the wild berry cream cheese funnel cake, all new culinary and confectionary favorites.

Dollywood is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
