Â鶹´«Ã½ Realtor Abducted

The family of Ronald Dumas, Jr., has always maintained that he wasn't just missing. So when they got the news that Â鶹´«Ã½ Police acknowledged that he was abducted, they felt vindicated.

"As we've told the media, investigators and everyone involved, he is a devoted father," said Shakeria Samples, mother of Dumas' 12-year-old son. "He's ever present and he would never walk away from his children."

Investigators traced two of the women Dumas was last seen with on surveillance footage Dec. 15, and further investigation revealed information that he was abducted.

They now have warrants out for five individuals. Four are from Memphis - Quintarious Shikelion White, Toure Laron McLaurin, Kierra Symone Clark and Carissa Cash. And one, Sabrina Rochelle Chamber, is from Â鶹´«Ã½. White, McLaurin and Chambers are wanted on charges of first degree kidnapping, Clark on conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and Cash for first degree receiving stolen property.

The mothers of Dumas' children, though, say they're frustrated with Â鶹´«Ã½ Police, wishing they had believed them in the first place and started investigating earlier.

"Instead of feeling like we're teammates and we're working side by side, it felt like we had to conduct our own investigation," said Samples. "That's not a good feeling."

They say detectives weren't communicating much with them. They hired their own private investigator to help. And they only found out about this big break by reading news organizations' websites.

"They did not get it first hand, which would have been the most respectful way to treat a family, especially the family of a victim in an ongoing abduction investigation," said Troy Styles, spokesperson for the family.

That investigation still spans parts of Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Dumas' family says they just need to know if he is alive or not.

"We need him back," said Talia Berryhill, mother of Dumas' four and five-year-old daughters. "We just want this to be over for our kids and for us. Our kids are crying."

Dumas' family is still offering a reward of $10,000 for information leading to Dumas' whereabouts. They say they will keep that in place until Feb. 28.

We reached out to Â鶹´«Ã½ Police for comment on the Dumas' family's comments, but we have not heard back.
