Here's everything you need to know ahead of this year's June Jam in Fort Payne

June Jam XVIII is just around the corner!

The event is set to begin at noon Saturday at the VFW Fairgrounds, located at in Fort Payne.

WAAY 31 has compiled a list of information from the on all the things you need to know. We will add to the following list as we receive more details:

Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry, ALABAMA's surviving members, will be joined by:

Tickets

  • General Admission: $49.99
  • Premium General Admission: $75
    • Premium General Admission ticket holders are closer to the stage than General Admission ticket holders.
  • VIP: $250
    • VIP ticket holders are in the sections closest to the stage.

Rules for Entry

“June Jam is committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. All guests shall remain respectful and courteous to Jam staff and fellow patrons. Guests must comply with directives from Jam staffâ€

The following items are prohibited:

  • Animals (with the exception of service animals)
  • Professional camera or video / audio recording equipment
  • Backpacks
  • Bottles or cans
  • Coolers
  • Drones and any other type of UAV
  • Fireworks
  • Food and drink purchased outside (including alcohol)
  • Frisbees and/or beach balls
  • Hoverboards, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates/shoes and wagons
  • Illegal drugs
  • Inflatables including balloons/beach balls
  • Laser pointers
  • Poles or sticks of any kind such as flagpoles, broomsticks or selfie sticks
  • Tents, tarps or sleeping bags
  • Guests may not carry weapons, firearms, knives, stun guns, pepper spray / mace and or dangerous devices of any type.
  • No firearms carried by guests are permitted at The Jam
  • Any item deemed inappropriate

Tips from Fort Payne Police:

Starting 6 p.m. Friday, 18th Street NE from Williams Ave NE to Gault Ave will be closed until pedestrian foot traffic is over after the concert.

Starting 6 a.m. Saturday the following road closures will occur until pedestrian foot traffic is over after the concert:

• 15th Street NE between Williams Ave NE to Jaycee Ave NE

• 20th Street NE between Gault Ave to Williams Ave NE

• Williams Ave NE between 14th Street NE to Jaycee Ave NE

• William Ave will be closed from Mims Street to 18th Street

• The front area of William Ave Elementary School will be a drop off point for shuttle service only. No public parking will be allowed.

Some areas that are not closed but will have heavy foot traffic.

• Williams Ave NE between 20th Street NE to 18th Street NE

• 14th Street NW between Alabama NW and Grand Ave NW

• 18th Street NW between Grand Ave NW and Gault Ave N

For all area residents, you of course will be able to access your home. We are trying to lesson vehicle traffic in your area because of heavy pedestrian foot traffic. For those that are renting out vehicle spaces for the event, you will be allowed to get those vehicles to your rental spaces.

Schedule of events leading up to June Jam:

  • May 29 - The ALABAMA June Jam Parade presented by the City of Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce - 6 p.m. (For more information, call 256-845-2741)
  • May 30 - Teddy Gentry's Singing with the Stars Talent Contest - 6 p.m. at the Fort Payne City Hall Auditorium ($15 tickets in advance and $20 at the door / For ticket purchases, call 256-997-9700 / Doors open at 4 p.m.)
  • May 30 - The Jeff & Lisa Cook Foundation Concert - 7 p.m. at Fort Payne's Dekalb Theatre (concert featuring the late Jeff Cook's Allstar Goodtime Band / tickets are $25 - $35 and may be purchased at / proceeds benefit The Jeff & Lisa Cook Foundation)
  • May 31 - Brunch at Cook Castle for The Jeff & Lisa Cook Foundation - 10 a.m. (brunch poolside at Cook Castle / $35 tickets available for purchase at / event features prizes, special merchandise and auction items / proceeds benefit The Jeff & Lisa Cook Foundation)
  • May 31 - June Jam Coin Show - Noon to 3 p.m. at the ALABAMA Fan Club and Museum in Fort Payne ($5.00 admission with proceeds benefiting the DeKalb County Children's Advocacy Center)
  • May 31 - ALABAMA June Jam Cornhole Tournament - 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the ALABAMA Fan Club & Museum parking lot ($50 entry fee per two person team / cash prizes and trophies awarded / registration and entry fee day of tournament at the museum)
  • May 31 - ALABAMA June Jam Songwriters Showcase - 7 p.m. at the Fort Payne City Hall Auditorium (concert will feature award-winning songwriters Lee Thomas Miller, Brice Long and a special surprise guest who will perform many of his self-written No. 1 hit songs / doors open at 6 p.m. / tickets and reserved seating include admission to ALABAMA tribute group "Boys in the Band" immediately following the showcase / tickets are $75 and available at the ALABAMA Fan Club and Museum, or by calling 256-845-1646 / seating is limited)
