Authorities responded to multiple 911 calls in Madison on Thursday for reports of a nude man trying to enter vehicles. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 72 in the area of Madison Bowling Center, Burger King, Walmart, and Mister Car Wash.
Madison Police say callers reported a naked man trying to enter vehicles, break windows, and assault people. They also said callers reported the man possibly being dragged by an occupied vehicle that he tried to enter.
According to Madison Police, they encountered the man on Promenade Pointe Parkway. They say he attempted to enter and steal an officer's patrol car. Madison Police say they were then forced to detain the man to prevent his escape.
Â鶹´«Ã½ Police arrived and are investigating the crimes that happened before Madison Police encountered the man.
The man was arrested for attempted theft of the police vehicle and several other public order crimes. He was taken to Â鶹´«Ã½ Hospital for medical treatment and will be jailed upon release. Madison Police say the man's identity is still being verified.
