A man accused of child sex crimes was finally caught and arrested Tuesday, after a months-long investigation. Â
According to the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Police Department, 61-year-old James Allen Tate Jr. is charged with two counts of rape and one count of sodomy.
On May 4 of 2024, officers responded to an address on Lori Circle regarding an abuse case involving a juvenile victim.
According to the report, Tate coerced the victim into engaging in sexual intercourse. Police say Tate fled the residence before officers arrived.
An investigator from HPD's Special Victims Unit was then assigned to the case.
During the evidence review, police say it was discovered that a second juvenile victim had also been coerced by Tate into sexual intercourse and other sexual acts.
Tate's location was identified following a tip received through Crime Stoppers, police say.Â
Jail records show Tate was booked into the Madison County Jail on bonds totaling $57,000.
