Man arrested after allegedly stealing vehicle, leading police on a chase in Decatur

Decatur Police say they arrested a man accused with stealing a vehicle and leading police on a chase Friday night.

Police say they were notified of a stolen vehicle in southwest Decatur and were able to locate it traveling north on Spring Avenue. Officers say the driver of the stolen vehicle led police on a pursuit before abandoning the vehicle in a ditch on the 700 block of Canterbury Ave. SW.

Police caught the suspect on the 1700 block of Douthit Street SW after a foot chase. Harold Crawford was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property. Crawford was booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
