  • 0

A McCalla man is facing multiple drug-related charges after Morgan County deputies say they found him with fentanyl during a traffic stop in Hartselle.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, 44-year-old John Lewis Patterson was charged Tuesday with dangerous drug trafficking - fentanyl, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

This comes after agents with the Morgan County Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit initiated a traffic stop near Interstate 65 and Main Street during an ongoing operation to address the flow of fentanyl and other illegal narcotics.

During the course of the traffic stop, agents located a large quantity of a substance that tested positive as fentanyl.

Patterson was booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $301,300 bond.
