More details have been released about a man that was arrested in connection with multiple road rage incidents spanning both Tennessee and Alabama.
James William Moore, 45, of Lincoln County, Tennessee, was arrested after a series of road rage reports in southern Lincoln County between October 18 and October 21.
Following an investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Moore was charged with two counts of vandalism, two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and disorderly conduct. During his booking at the Lincoln County Jail, he was found in possession of contraband, resulting in an additional charge of introduction of contraband in a penal facility.
Moore is being held on a $105,000 bond in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Authorities have indicated that more charges could follow as the investigation continues.
In a related incident, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama received a report on Monday morning of a road rage incident involving Moore at a Walmart in Hazel Green. According to deputies, the altercation began near Taft, Tennessee, where Moore allegedly followed the victim, struck their vehicle, and fired a gun. Moore then pursued the victim to the Walmart, where he used a baseball bat to strike the victim’s car before fleeing. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.
Moore was later arrested in Lincoln County on separate charges.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the Hazel Green incident and is determining the motive behind Moore’s actions.
Officials clarified that this case is not related to a separate road rage incident near Hazel Green Pharmacy that occurred on Saturday.
