An inmate is accused of punching a corrections officer in the face and headbutting another, according to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office. 

The attack happened Thursday, as corrections officers were overseeing the meal delivery in Booking. The sheriff's office says 34-year-old Chaz Mandale Reed, of Decatur, ended up breaking one of their noses during the attack.

That corrections officer received medical attention and was transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital. Deputies say he is expected to make a full recovery. 

Reed was in the Morgan County Jail after being arrested by the Decatur Police Department on Wednesday for robbery, escape, and resisting arrest.

The sheriff's office says investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division are now obtaining a warrant for assault as well.
