Athens Fire and Rescue responded to a pallet plant fire at the pole barn in Tanner Thursday afternoon. Officials say the fire required multiple agencies.
While there, officials say the department received a call about an apartment fire at Athens Park Apartments on West Elm Street around 4:30 p.m. Owens Volunteer Fire Department was headed to Tanner and were directed to West Elm to help emergency crews with the apartment fire.
Authorities say one apartment was heavily damaged and other units had smoke and water damage.
