Rain chances increase as we head into the weekend

Temperatures are now and will continue to be fairly mild. Morning temperatures are in the upper 40s, Thursday's high temperature will rise to the mid-50s. Isolated rain is possible throughout the day. Almost all of us will end up remaining dry, but a handful of us will see just a few minutes of light rain. Cloudy skies and windy decisions will remain throughout the day.

Wind increases overnight and especially tomorrow with gusts reaching up to 35 mph. Scattered rain will stay with us all day tomorrow. The line starts in the Shoals in the wee hours of Friday morning and very gradually travels east throughout the day, reaching Sand Mountain by Friday evening.

Saturday brings a level 1/5 severe weather risk with 2.5-3.5 inches of rain possible with gusty wind remaining a significant factor.

Sunday features some isolated, light rain in the morning but it dries up very quickly. We're left with a partly cloudy day with high temperatures in the low 60s.

TONIGHT: Cloudy. Lows in the upper 40s. Wind: SE 10-15 mph.
