School is out for the summer, but that does not mean the learning has to stop!
In this WAAY 31 special series, Summer Brain Gain, I am traveling around North Alabama to find some of the best activities for your family.
I stopped by the EarlyWorks Children's Museum in Â鶹´«Ã½ to learn more about their summer programs.ÌýIf you haven’t been in a while, there are a few new exhibits– such as Doc McStuffins.Ìý
“Doc is in the house!†said Beth Goodwin, the museum’s Deputy Director. It will be there until September 22nd. Kids can “operate†on their stuffed animal of choice and experience what it’s like to be a doctor.Ìý
There is also a Kid-struction zone– where kids can build projects, an art wall – to explore their creative side and water play.

At Early Works, there is no limit to your child’s imagination. Inside of the Tinker Lab, kids can watch a 3D printer create their designs. They can touch, pull, climb and experiment– while learning about everything from physics to aerodynamics. There are daily STEM lessons and story time.Ìý
Starting in August, the museum will undergo a series of renovations. Biscuits Backyard will get a refresh, there will be a new outdoor area, an additional lab for experiments and, “a HUGE new feature,†said Godwin. "Lots of changes coming to EarlyWorks in the next months and few years. It is new and it is improved,†she added.Ìý
