TVA offers STEM Education Grants

"Get Cash for Your Class" campaign provides funds for STEM-related projects for schools serviced by Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Utilities.

The Tennessee Valley Authority’s STEM Classroom Grant Program for science, technology, engineering and math education is now open for applications through September 15.

The program is providing $1.5 million to fund STEM learning projects in classrooms and schools across TVA’s seven-state service area. It is sponsored by TVA in partnership with the TVA retiree organization, Bicentennial Volunteers Inc. 

Teachers can apply at for funding up to $5,000 for STEM projects with preference given to applications that align with explore TVA’s primary area of focus: energy, environmental stewardship, economic development, and career development, and community problem-solving. 

Eligible applicants are teachers or school administrators in public or private schools, grades K-12. Schools must be in the TVA service area and receive electricity from a local power distributor served by TVA. 

Last year’s program awarded a record $1.5 million in grants to schools across seven states. There were 715 grant applications received, and 343 were selected for funding. More than 130,000 students in 105 counties representing all of TVA’s seven-state region were impacted by the funding in 2023-2024 cycle.
