Temporary gag order still in effect in Marquette case

  • Updated

A judge ordered on Friday that a temporary gag order is still in effect in the case against Bailey Marquette for the shooting death of Steve Perkins.

The hearing wrapped on Friday. The judge has yet to rule in the case.

Attorneys for Marquette are asking the court to deny the state's motion for a permanent gag order. They believe a gag order prevents them from effectively representing their client.

A request for a temporary gag order was granted on March 22.
