Rain chances climb going into the work week

Easter Sunday is looking very warm and dry. Rain and storms will be back at times next week, but right now severe weather looks unlikely. Temperatures will cool just slightly, but we will still be seasonal in the upper 70s to low 80s most of the week.

Tonight, cloud coverage will start to build in, but no rain is expected. Low temperatures will be in the mid 60s.

For Easter Sunday, we will continue to see heavy cloud coverage, but some of us could see some patches of sunshine in the afternoon. Rain chances will hold off until the beginning of the work week, high temperatures will top out in the middle 80s.

Going into Sunday night we will remain dry, and temperatures will be in the upper 60s.

Our next cold front arrives on Monday bringing showers and storms back with it. Severe weather is looking unlikely, but locally heavy downpours are possible. As the front stalls out across central Alabama additional rounds of rain and storms will stick around most of the week.

Temperatures next week will run mostly in the upper 70s to low 80s for highs with overnight lows in the 60s.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy Lows in the mid 60s. Wind: S 5-10 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy, warm, and dry! Highs in the mid 80s. Wind: S 10 mph. Gust 20 mph.
