A single-vehicle crash early Friday morning claimed the life of a Florence woman, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Madalyn G. Powell, 28, was fatally injured when the 2009 Kia Rio she was driving left the roadway and struck a culvert around 5:45 a.m. on Alabama 13 near mile marker 237, approximately seven miles north of Berry.
ALEA reported that Powell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing their investigation into the incident. Further details are unavailable at this time.
