An investigation is underway after someone tried to force their way into a Â鶹´«Ã½ home and even fired a gun when confronted by a juvenile at the door.

The Â鶹´«Ã½ Police Department says officers responded to a possible robbery in the 2200 block of Sullivan Road about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

When they arrived, they made contact with a juvenile female victim.

Police say she advised that someone knocked on the door, and when she answered the door, the suspect attempted to force their way into the home.

A physical altercation occurred between the victim and offender, and police say the offender pulled a firearm and fired it during the altercation. Police confirm the victim was not struck with a bullet and the bullet did not hit anyone else in the home.

The juvenile male offender fled the scene prior to officers' arrival, according to police.

Police are actively investigating this as a burglary into an occupied residence.
