Authorities are investigating after an inmate's death was reported at an Alabama Department of Corrections facility.
Officials say the death was reported on Tuesday at Bullock Correctional Facility. Staff say they discovered Michael Shane Dotson unresponsive in his cell. According to officials, life-saving measures were administered but Dotson was unable to be resuscitated and was pronounced dead.
Dotson, 51, was serving three 20-year concurrent sentences for theft of property.
The ADOC Law Enforcement Service Division is investigating Dotson's death. The cause of death is pending the conclusion of that investigation.Â
